Review:
This YMCA location offers everything from infant daycare with CPR and First-Aid certified care givers to senior citizen fitness classes for those burdened with chronic conditions who want to improve their strength, flexibility, balance and endurance! The cardio area is equipped with brand new Life Fitness treadmills and workout equipment, which are all nicely spaced to encourage safety and conversation.
A wide variety of group exercise classes makes sure everyone can be involved. Group classes include Pilates, yoga, Zumba, kickboxing and several specialty classes. A six-week course in karate is offered for youth, intermediate or advanced students. The Youth Sports Program offers swimming, soccer, baseball, basketball and volleyball teams. The Small Fry Sports teams are soccer, T-ball and basketball.
In an effort to strengthen bonds between kids and their families, a Youth and Government program teaches the democratic and legislative processes while the Adventure Guides is a parent-child program that meets monthly to foster family relationships through a variety of activities both at the YMCA and during outdoor camping and field trips.
The staff and management board are predominately manned by a small paid staff and a wonderful volunteer program. In either case, the helpfulness and commitment of all is very apparent! Many dedicated members are also very willing to answer your questions.
