Review:
The YMCA of Central Ohio offers modern equipment and up-to-date classes in a historical building. The friendly staff is concerned about the comfort, convenience and care of the members and guests.
This downtown location, convenient for many businesses in the area, offers several treadmills, elliptical machines, upright and recumbent bicycles, all located in front of a bank of televisions. The weight training equipment includes a set of Nautilus machines, Free Motion machines and a complete bank of free weights. A staff fitness monitor is available to help with the machines or to provide a fitness assessment.
The women's locker room even offers two treadmills, an elliptical machine, stationary bicycle, some Nautilus equipment and free weights for those who would like more privacy for their workouts.
This bustling branch offers group exercise classes throughout the weekdays at peak times. Classes include various forms of yoga, aerobics, sculpting, spinning, Pilates, group weight training and boot camp. The most sought-after classes at this location are spinning and "Ripped to the Rhythm," which combines cardio and strength training. Swimming classes are available, as well as a masters swim team for those who want to brush up their strokes.
While this YMCA welcomes children, not many visit, especially on weekdays. There aren't as many activities geared toward children compared to other YMCA locations in the area.
