Review:
Although Gold's Gym at Bee Caves in Austin has been here for more than seven years, the location is definitely not showing its age. The two-story, well-kept facility has recently added more than 20 pieces of new equipment to keep its status as one of the better gyms in this area.
The main floor is dedicated to free and stationary weight machines, the Kid's Club day care and the "Women Only" workout room. Dumbbell racks and weight loading equipment, such as chest press and lateral pulls, are available on the main floor. Members will also find mats, jump ropes, step benches and exercise balls there. The "Women Only" area contains five aerobic machines, thigh exercise equipment and free weights.
Televisions scattered throughout both levels of the gym broadcast continuously for member's entertainment during workouts. The aerobic equipment on the second level consists of treadmills, elliptical machines and bikes. Their dedicated spinning studio fits about 30 bikes. Members looking for swimming pools, racquetball courts, or tracks will not find them at this location.
The staff and personal trainers are very friendly and eager to answer questions about the equipment and personal training. The location promotes a series of group exercise classes licensed as "Body" classes, which meet a variety of workout needs. Members can take an aerobic weightlifting "BodyPump" class followed by a "BodyFlow" program combining several stretching genres. "BodyCombat" is an intense workout with self-defense techniques, while "BodyJam" allows members to enjoy different dance styles while burning calories.
Check out how to pick the right gym for you.
