Olympic Highlights: Davis and White Score Silver in Ice Dancing

On the positive side, Monday's Olympic events saw the USA take home another gold. The only downside? It wasn't the much hoped for gold medal in the Ice Dancing - Free Dance event. Despite a stunning performance to Phantom of the Opera, Meryl Davis and Charlie White were considered second best to the judges -- but that's still a pretty amazing feat in itself. It was Monday's only medal for the our Olympic team. Taking home the gold in the
sport were Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, making it the fifth gold for our neighbors to the North. In the bronze spot were Russians Oksana Domnina and Maxim Shabalin, followed closely by our own Tanith Belbin and Benjamin Agosto in fourth. What's particularly significant about this year's podium line-up is that it's the first time in Olympic history that a Russian team hasn't taken gold or silver. In hockey news, the American Women's team beat the Swedish team 9 to 1, making up for a particularly painful loss to the Swedes at the last winter Olympics in Turin.
