Tracy Anderson's New Reality Show and Bonus Butt Workout

Celeb trainer Tracy Anderson, who was recently named one of the 10 Hottest Trainers on TV by That's Fit, is not only getting her own reality show, according to "Us Weekly," but has received credit from A-lister Gwyneth Paltrow for getting her "sagging ass into shape." In the latest issue of Paltrow's online newsletter, GOOP, this Anderson fitness disciple featured a bonus butt and leg workout created for Paltrow from the pro-dancer-turned-trainer Anderson.

"Every once in a while she sends me a little movie to change something up," Paltrow wrote about the bonus exercises. "She sent me this one for the New Year's butt. It's really hard. But do it like she says to do it and I swear that in ten days you will see your butt change shape. I do it with 1 lb. ankle weights and then I do her Dance Aerobics DVD. Some days I hate it, some days I love it, but above all, I stick with it. The sticktoitivness is what it is all about."

Tracy Anderson's Method -- the Mat Method specifically -- is a Pilates-based body sculpting workout that gets the body toned without adding bulk. It also includes elements of ballet, callanetics and calisthenics and can help target trouble spots. Anderson's method doesn't work large muscle groups or require heavy weights, but instead relies on fluidity and focuses on doing many reps and targeting small, underworked muscles. While her exercise method may sound a bit like another we all know and love -- Pilates -- she claims that her method has a broader focus on balance and the whole body.

Despite losing big celeb client Madonna (Madonna said Anderson was a "distraction") this past fall, other high-profile clients such as Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox-Arquette, Shakira, Kate Hudson and Kristin Davis all swear by Anderson's DVDs, from the Mat Workout -- The Tracy Anderson Method Presents Mat Workout DVD -- to The Tracy Anderson Method Presents Dance Cardio Workout DVD and even The Tracy Anderson Method Presents Post Pregnancy Workout DVD.

This sequence can be used to stay fit on the road, and can be done in a hotel room or virtually anywhere else. Anderson said to do "40 to 60 reps of each move and you will really see a change in your body." Since the video was originally made by Tracy to kick-start Gwyneth's post-holiday workout routine, it's also a good sequence to add to your own fat-busting repertoire for 2010!
