Amy's "Quest To Skinny" Lead to 70-Pound Weight Loss

Blogging Down Posted on Feb 18th 2010 2:00PM by Martha Edwards
Every week, we introduce you to bloggers who share their weight-loss journeys and hefty doses of inspiration with their readers. This week's featured blogger is Amy from Amy's Quest to Skinny.

Name:
Amy Muldoon

Age: 28

Start weight: 267 pounds

Current weight: 193 pounds

Goal weight: 167 pounds

My weight loss approach: I've had the most success following Weight Watchers in addition to running and attending group fitness classes at the gym.

Why I wanted to blog about it: From the time I was a little girl, I've always been one to keep a diary. I started blogging more as an electronic diary more than anything else. In retrospect, I'm so glad I started my blog. Its amazing to look back at the highs and lows of the weight loss process. You'd be surprised at how often you can find motivation reading your own posts!

The best part of blogging is: Hands down the best part is the blogging community. I've met several amazing women that I'm now proud to call true friends through blogging. After a lot of planning and about 700 emails, we've had blogger meet-ups in both Toronto and Halifax. Oddly enough, I feel extremely at ease posting my inner most secrets on my blog just knowing the amount of support I will receive. The blogging community is filled with kind people who are always willing to lend their support. I am thankful each day for my readers!

Best comment I've received:
I receive amazing comments each and every day. But if I had to pick just one comment, it would be on a post I wrote about my "That's It" moment. The moment that made me decide I had to lose weight. Its sometimes so easy to forget how far I've come and I fail to see all the good things in my life. This comment came from a true friend, and it meant the world to me.

"What an awesome post. Not only are you one of the greatest people that I have the privilege to call a friend, but you're stunning and have a gorgeous husband and a happy life. I'm sorry you had to go through that moment, as it must have broken your heart, but look at the amazing woman you've become, and that experience only added to your beauty. You've come leaps and bounds and you're amazing and I hope there is someone there to tell you that every single day."

What's next for my blog: I began my blog four years ago. The scale has crept up a little bit, so the main focus of my blog is to get back on the losing train. I have recently joined the X-Weighted National Challenge, to get back to my goal weight which I have started documenting on my blog. In addition I will be training for my 10th half marathon!

2010 is going to be a great year for me, I have so much to look forward to!
