kiwiSuperfoods are packed with nutrients such as vitamins, minerals and phenols that help the body ward off disease by preventing free radical damage. While they're good for you no matter how old you are, certain superfoods can help the body combat the particular age-related challenges.

For example, teenagers and young adults in their 20s need to focus on strengthening and maintaining healthy bones to prevent osteoporosis later in life. You can increase your potassium intake by eating dark leafy greens and up your calcium through yogurt, which helps the body forge and maintain healthy bones. In comparison, people in their 60s and 70s often face macular degeneration and memory loss. By eating a diet rich in lutein and choline -- found in spinach and eggs, respectively -- seniors may be able to combat sight loss and memory degeneration.

Here, That's Fit and AOL Health contributor and nutritionist Jonny Bowden compiled a decade-by-decade list of superfoods you can match up with your own age.

It takes more than just nutrition to slow down aging. You need to exercise, too. Find out why on That's Fit.
