Fit Beauty: Fatten Up! Your Hair, We Mean

I don't know about you, but my biggest winter hair problem is that it's just so limp. Even with some backcombing and spray, it just feels flat. Winter hats don't help the situation, either. So naturally, I'm a sucker for products that promise to fatten up my tresses!
My hairstylist suggested Bumble and bumble's Thickening Serum ($26). This isn't a styling product; rather, it's a serum you apply nightly to thin hair to make each strand thicker. She had a client with exceptionally thin hair who had incredible luck with it -- I've been using it for a few weeks, and my hair feels great, though I'm not sure if it feels thicker because of the serum or because I cut it shorter. I suspect it's a little of Column A, a little of Column B.
Now, the fun part -- styling. Tigi has come out with a Catwalk: Your Highness Volume Collection that I had a chance to review, and I'm just in love with it. First of all, it smells amazing -- feminine, sexy and subtle with an infusion of lavender, wisteria, jasmine and violet. Second of all, it works!
They offer a shampoo and conditioner, which I didn't try (I've been using a moisturizing shampoo to combat the dry air with a volumizing conditioner to keep my hair from being weighed down). The first product I used was the Thickening Gel Crème; I didn't need much, and it made my hair look full and bouncy after blow-drying.
Then, the Weightless Shine Spray added -- you guessed it -- shine to my hair without taking away the volume. I really liked it, but it's not for the hair product novice. Consider it a nice addition to a well-rounded hair product collection.
The next morning, after my hair had flattened out from a night of sleep, I gave the Firm Hold Hairspray a try by spraying it at the roots and tousling my hair to give it some lift. By combing my fingers through the hair as the spray dried, I created a soft, touchable style with plenty of volume, and I kept thinking how great it would be to have a spray like this after wearing a hat. It's instant volume, but you'll still need a bit of skill -- it's hairspray, after all, not fairy dust.
Another tip that might help you out -- skip a day of shampooing. It's not gross, it's good for your hair!
