Biggest Celebrity Diet Slip-ups of 2009
Posted on Dec 25th 2009 12:00PM by Kristen SeymourHe was once a heartthrob who played Iceman and Bruce Wayne, but as the choice roles in hit films have diminished, Val Kilmer's weight has done just the opposite. Or, perhaps it's the other way around. He has an interesting role in "Bad Lieutenant," which might give his career a bit of a jump start, but will we ever see the fit Kilmer of old again?
Maybe Val Kilmer will get a makeover for the film "MacGruber," based on the SNL skit and set for release in April 2010.

Val Kilmer

Jessica Simpson
If we had a dime for every tabloid cover devoted to Jessica Simpson's weight, we'd be able to retire. Because Simpson is very curvy, but not very tall, every pound shows (particularly when she wears clothes that aren't so flattering to her figure).
Simpson has spoken out about being a curvy woman, and as long as she remains healthy and happy, we have no complaints.
Simpson is not the only one speaking out about her figure, her sister has her back, too.
Mariah Carey
Mariah Carey might have gained a couple of dress sizes since marrying Nick Cannon, but the continually-curvy songstress is nonplussed, "I'm a curvy girl and switch around with my diets all the time," Carey admitted earlier this year.
Her diet plans includes eating only bleak foods or avoiding champagne. We wonder if she dumps the latter plan to ring in the New Year.
Kevin Federline
Kevin Federline's made more headlines for his ballooning torso this year than for actually doing anything. Rumors have swirled that he was joining "Dancing With the Stars," taking a spot on "Celebrity Fit Club," and trying therapy to help shed the pounds, but so far, nothing seems to have worked. Maybe he needs to check in with ex-wife Britney Spears' people -- they certainly found something that worked for her!
Britney flaunted toned abs in early 2009 and credited hard work and time in the dance studio with her body transformation.
Nicole Eggert
Former "Baywatch" bikini babe Nicole Eggert has put on a few pounds since her days as Summer Quinn on the hit TV show, but she has a tremendous sense of humor to go with the weight gain. The actress put together a "Funny or Die" video as a way to take on those who have been critical of her heavier figure.
But she isn't just letting herself go, she's signed up to be on the next installment of "Celebrity Fit Club," along with K-Fed and Bobby Brown.
Tammy Lynn Michaels
Tammy Lynn Michaels admits that she had trouble finding large enough maternity clothes while pregnant with her twins, according to the Celebrity Baby Blog. She gave birth in October 2006, but is still dealing with some body issues; specifically, some extra tummy that wasn't there before.
But, we love her attitude about it. She asks, "How can I hate a body that is kissed almost hourly by two gorgeous creatures like my twinlies?"

Kirstie Alley
Kirstie Alley, once a spokesperson (and success story) for Jenny Craig, gained back all the weight she lost (and then some) after going off the program. She told Oprah earlier this year that she fell off the wagon after her Jenny Craig contract ended, and that it was hard for her to see Valerie Bertinelli's amazing success. She swears she's ready to get back to healthy eating, and we're hoping that's truly the case.
Bertinelli recently passed the torch after her weight loss success. Check out the latest star to give Jenny a try.
Alec Baldwin
Alec Baldwin has unapologetically gained considerable weight over the past few years. But, just because he's not out there talking about diets, don't think for a second he's unaware that he's more man than he used to be.
At a Women in Hollywood Awards dinner he was hosting, he talked about how thin women in Hollywood are these days, saying, "Women today are so skinny. If I did a love scene with them, I would crush them. If I did a love scene with Renee [Zellweger], I would kill her."
Middle age does not have to be an excuse for waistline sprawl, however. Check out five ways for guys to stick to any exercise program.
Geena Davis
Geena Davis was quite the bombshell back in her "Thelma and Louise" days, and while she's still a stunner, she's flaunting a much fuller figure as of late. However, it's worth noting that every picture we've seen of the 53-year-old mother of three shows her smiling and happy, and we're not about to argue with that!
Hopefully she's still staying fit, because exercise can do a lot more than just keep you thin as you age.
