Get Some Sun Time

Posted on Dec 10th 2009 9:00AM by Martha Edwards
Even when the days are shorter and colder, make sure you're getting outside to enjoy the sunshine. Not getting enough vital vitamin D from sunlight is linked to Seasonal Affective Disorder and can even cause you to gain weight. With the sun rising and setting so early, it can be difficult to get the sunshine you need, so make a concentrated effort to see the sunlight during the day -- get up early to go for a run before work, take a long walk on your lunch break and spend time outdoors with your family on the weekend. Just be sure to bundle up properly -- it's cold out there!
