Good news for Jenny Craig: Their newest spokesperson,
Sara Rue, has already
lost seven pounds in the last five days.
We announced earlier this week that the 31-year-old actress was the latest celeb to
team up with Jenny Craig and make her 30-pound weight loss goal public. The prime time TV star, best known for her roles in "Less Than Perfect," "Popular" and "Eastwick," told People Magazine she was glad she waited until after
Thanksgiving to start her new diet. "I didn't have any distractions, I didn't have to be anywhere. I could just focus on planning my meals and getting a good start on the weekend."
Rue says the biggest challenge so far is not the lack of food (to which she says she doesn't feel deprived), but being in the public eye about her weight. "I'm a very private person so talking openly about this is hard. But when the news broke on PEOPLE.com, I twittered about it and people were so supportive twittering back."
Some have been so supportive, in fact, that they have jumped on the
Jenny Craig bandwagon with her. "SO excited "team Rue" (my glam squad) all wanna do Jenny C. to support me and look even more gorge then they already do!" Rue
tweeted earlier this week. "I love my ladies!!!" She also credits her two "
pups" for being a loyal part of her support team by keeping her on task with daily walks. While many people wait until
January 1 to begin a new diet (which is when
Jenny Craig strategically plans to roll out their newest spokesperson's commercials), Rue admits to a healthy head start. "I kind of like the idea of getting to January 1 and I'm already doing my
New Year's resolution."
