Cheesy Workout Video Roundup: The Spoof Edition

Cheesy workout videos abound on the Internet. Aerobics instructors and jazzercise devotees back in the 80s had no idea how much joy their perfectly feathered hair, matching leotards and corny commentary would bring to us in the future! At That's Fit, we're rounding up a few of our favorite funny fitness videos. Some are the real deal, while others are purposely playful, but no matter what, they're sure to bring a smile to your face. If you have a favorite, be sure to share!
Plenty of workout videos make you laugh, but a select few are specifically designed to do so. Maybe we should try doing a spoof of our own!
Power Pad Fun!
Anyone who played Nintendo back in the '80s is sure to recall the Dance Aerobics game. While we laughed -- loudly -- at the goofiness of this guy sweating to the outdated game, a part of us recalls standing in front of the TV, looking pretty darn similar. And now we're just glad that the video camera was too big and cumbersome for anyone to bother getting it out to film us doing it!
Chip Basedow
This video shows Brett Pearsons as Chip Basedow, fictional cousin of John Basedow (the man behind the embarrassingly catchy "Fitness Made Simple"). If you've ever found yourself simultaneously annoyed at and amazed by those infomercials, you'll fully appreciate this spoof. (Seriously, how does he look so young?)
Mariko Takahashi's Fitness Video
What do you get when you have a tiny Asian woman in a ridiculous outfit doing a word-by-word parody of Susan Powter's first video? Well, when you add in poodles -- actual, terrifyingly realistic exercising poodles -- you get a spoof that falls somewhere between hysterically funny and flat out disturbing. We'll let you make the call. (According to the YouTube description, the video was made by Nagi Noda for Panasonic and was one of 10 films they made for the 2004 Athens Olympics.
