While I'm not much to watch on the dance floor, I love Latin dancing. It's fun, it's freeing, and it works all kinds of muscles. So, when That's Fit was offered a copy of the "Crunch: Latin Rhythms" DVD, which promises to be a "fat blasting dance," I jumped at the chance.

The video's instructor, Jennifer Galardi, has been a professional dancer and American Council on Exercise certified group fitness instructor for eight years, and it's clear in the video that she loves both. She's joined by a fairly large group of people, which fits in with CRUNCH philosophy -- create workouts that let everyone take part.

The back cover of the DVD calls this "a workout that doesn't feel like work," allowing you to burn lots of calories while doing the mambo, cha cha, merengue and samba. So does it live up to the hype?

Level of Difficulty

Beginner to intermediate.

Next Day Soreness
Slight.

Who's It For?
It's definitely geared toward people who enjoy dancing and shaking their booty.

Likes
This is a fast-paced workout -- there are no breaks and very little downtime. The instructor is high energy and really positive, as is everyone in the video. The music is energetic, and you can easily modify the moves to be more or less difficult depending on your level of fitness. Also, the video is just 38 minutes long, but in that 38 minutes, I definitely worked up a sweat!

Dislikes
I could have used a bit more instruction on a few of the moves, although I picked up on them all well enough to keep up. If you don't have much experience dancing, it might take a couple of tries before you feel like you're dancing along with the video.

Bottom Line
I really enjoyed the video. It's not the most difficult workout I've ever done, but it's quick and fun -- a great option for days when I don't feel like doing a traditional workout.

This isn't the only Latin dance video I've loved. Check out this review of "Core Rhythms"!
