Amid flashing paparazzi bulbs and
Jenny Craig gourmet snacks, the curvy actress said on Wednesday, "My weight has fluctuated my whole life, and because I've been on TV since I was 11 years old, everyone has seen it. Like so many women in this country I have a problem controlling what I eat based on my emotional health."
Sara Rue aims to lose 30 pounds on
Jenny Craig, starting immediately.
The 31-year-old actress told
That's Fit she can't wait to start the program and looks to
Valerie Bertinelli's 40-pound weight loss as her ultimate inspiration. Does she also want to follow in Bertinelli's footsteps and don a teeny weeny bikini for all the world to see? "Ah, if I look half as good as she did [points to Valerie], then possibly," said Rue. To help Rue achieve her goals, a Jenny Craig nutrition consultant will be on call as well as exercise experts and a team of dietitians. (We should all be so lucky.)
Molly Wangsgaard is a registered dietitian with Jenny Craig who consults on their new food menus. "We don't want any of our clients to ever go hungry. We believe in eating three hearty, well-balanced meals a day -- with unlimited fruits and vegetables available to every client. And we offer delicious
snacks for in between meals as well," Wangsgaard said. "This is not a deprivation diet."
Rue is counting on emotional support from Bertinelli, too, who just launched a new
fitness DVD "Valerie Bertinelli Losing It and Keeping Fit." Bertinelli said, "Sara really wants to change her life in addition to transforming her body, and so I really see great success in her future because she's honest and ready to commit. Sara is the real deal."
