Fashion-worthy legs are gorgeous from every angle, from the front thigh (quadriceps) and the back thigh (hamstrings) to the inner and outer thighs and the calves. That doesn't mean that you have to work out each and every one of these muscle groups with a specific exercise; in fact, you're better choosing leg exercises that work them all together at the same time, similar to the way they operate in real life. Not only will this firm up your legs faster, it's also the best way to keep the knee, hip and ankle joints injury-free.

Checklist

  • Cost: Nada.
  • Time Commitment: 5 to 10 minutes, 2 to 3 times a week.
  • Location Limitations: None.
  • Special Equipment Required: Wall, chair.
  • Potential Pitfalls:
  • Boredom Rating: N/A.
  • Potential Injury Risk: Very low if you practice good technique.
  • Level of Fitness Required: Beginner-to-advanced.
  • Calories Burned: 80 calories in 10 minutes.
  • Body Parts Worked: Thighs, calves.
  • False Myths: That there's nothing you can do about thigh cellulite. The truth is that leg toning exercises dramatically improve the appearance of cellulite.
