Kirstie Alley Breaks with Jenny Craig
Posted on Dec 2nd 2009 12:50PM by Tanya ManciniAfter three years as spokesperson for the Jenny Craig weight-loss program, former 'Cheers' actor Kirstie Alley has stepped aside, People magazine reports.
"Although Kirstie will not appear in future advertising endeavors for us, she does remain on Jenny Craig's maintenance program," Scott Parker, vice-president of marketing for Jenny Craig, told People.
Alley served as an inspiration for many dieters, losing a reported 75 pounds and was one of the first celebrities to sign on publicly to a diet plan. Former "One Day at a Time" star Valerie Bertinelli has also appeared as a spokesmodel for Jenny Craig, and Queen Latifah recently joined the company, for a campaign reportedly focusing on healthy weight. An ad on the Jenny Craig Web site featuring Latifah reads: "I'm taking the first step toward improving my health with Jenny Craig."
Interestingly, Queen Latifah has spent the last year urging America to "Go for the good stuff" as the voice of Pizza Hut.
