What You Can Eat
The Sonoma Diet emphasizes 10 power foods: almonds, bell peppers, blueberries, broccoli, grapes, olive oil, spinach, strawberries, tomatoes and whole grains like wheatberry and quinoa. Fresh produce, whole grains and lean meats -- the signature ingredients of the lush fields of Napa and Sonoma Valleys -- are also on the menu. In the restrictive first wave of the diet, however, refined sugar and flour are off limits. In waves 2 and 3, you'll eat more fruit, veggies, fat-free yogurt, some sweets and wine (of any variety).
