Need energy? Reach for a snack that's packed with protein to keep you going for hours.

A snack that packs a fair amount of protein will help give you long-lasting energy, as opposed to the quick sugar rush and inevitable crash that sugary treats will provide. Supermodel Liz Hurley already knows this -- she keeps slim and energized by filling up on beef jerky all day long.

Not a fan of beef jerky? Don't worry -- you have plenty of healthy choices available. Cottage cheese, nuts, string cheese, tuna, eggs, edamame and low-fat yogurt will all provide you with a good source of protein while satisfying your grumbling stomach.
