With out busy lives, energy crashes happen all the time, and our first defence is usually to reach for something caffeinated or sugary -- or both! But this is exaclty the wrong thing to do -- instead, keep a stash of fatigue-fighting foods on hand.

There are plenty of snacks to choose from, but as a rule of thumb, make sure your energy-boosting food of choice is something that will keep you going for a long time, such as protein or whole grains. But if your sweet tooth just won't give in, choose a piece of fruit over a piece of chocolate.
