Week 5 at "The Biggest Loser" continued its family-friendly G rating, peppered with emotional outbursts as two-person teams were torn apart to build Jillian's Black and Bob's Blue. Hearts took a bruising as only one lucky, or maybe unlucky, player won the chance to stack the teams and pick a trainer while others ate cake. Read on to hear how awful a big slice of chocolate cake really is, who scored the control card and which player dropped 16 pounds in seven days.

Supernatural Silver Platters. The show opened with a temptation wheel of 36 silver platters containing either the golden ticket to pick teams and trainers, $1,000 or a calorie-packed pastry. Abby chose to sit this one out, claiming nothing on the wheel played a part in where she wants to go. You could just imagine Bob and Jillian's off-camera high-fives. But in a villain-to-remember moment, Tracy scored the golden ticket after a few players spun and stuffed down pastries. Rudy's large slice of chocolate-frosted yellow cake was a surprising 1,000 calories. Mo says Tracy's win was the supernatural at work. Oh c'mon, she spun and won.

The Villain's Picks.
Tracy chose a Blue t-shirt to be with Bob, then split every team apart except Daniel and Shay and partner Mo. Blue team is stacked with strength: Tracy, Mo, Allen, Liz, Rudy and Rebecca. Jillian's underdog Black team consists of Daniel, Shay, fractured-tibia Abby, Danny, Amanda and Dina. But this is a game of the scale, not the bench press. Read on to see who wins.

What Fitness Move Has You Unglued? Dina's scared of doing a plyo jump, but Jillian told her facing her fear and completing a plyo could change her life. Has a fitness challenge ever left you unglued? Maybe you eventually conquered it, maybe not. But if Dina continues to lose weight and gain strength, she will nail that plyo. Keep that frame of mind and re-dedicate yourself to hurdling your personal fitness challenge. Make an accommodation if you need to -- if only my high school uneven bars were positioned over a pool of water.

First Black Team Puke. Jillian may not be f-bombing, but she's still pushing pukes. After Jillian ordered Amanda to "vomit or don't," Amanda headed outside to heave. Official Season 8 Rolf Meter stands at 3. Then Liz passed out after overexerting herself on the treadmill driven by revenge after Tracy split up the Brown team. This entire episode was drama-drama, you've got to wonder if the Biggest Loser screen test also includes a cry test. But at least Season 8 tears are tempered by pounds lost.

You Lose Weight, They'll Lose Weight. Contestants ripped calories and callouses carrying one team member on a platform through mud and grass, and Blue team's brawn won this challenge easily for videos from home. Watch out for Black's Danny, he looked strong. But the real story emerged when Liz surprised Danny by sacrificing her video, clicking play on his. Danny's wife has lost 20 pounds and his in-laws are down a combined 40 pounds. The show continues to make this point clear -- changing your eating and fitness habits can positively impact those you love most. Stick with it.

Don't-Miss Trainer Gems

  • Deadlifts tone and strengthen glutes and hamstrings, says Jillian. Stand up tall with dumbbells or barbells in both hands, then slowly bend forward at the waist until torso is parallel to the floor. Don't forget to keep a slight bend in your knees through the entire movement. Lift back up. Too easy? Try deadlifts on one leg, then alternate. Here's an in-depth look at a deadlift, including the Sumo and Conventional styles.
  • Ease into regular push-ups by starting with wall push-ups, says Bob. Once you've mastered a push-up leaning into a wall, progress to a desk, a chair and finally to the ground.
With Mo nursing injuries, Blue players lost between 6 and 8 pounds each for a 2.56-percent team weight loss. Rebecca is now at 237 pounds, the same weight she carried at the age of 14. After a potential game play zero loss last week, it was no surprise Black's Daniel dropped 11 pounds. But then came Shay, losing 16 pounds and gaining confidence as she tipped the team's weight loss to 3.05 percent and a win for Black. Elimination eyes were on Blue's Tracy until hobbling Mo asked to go home -- she's safe for one more week. After arriving at the ranch at 355 pounds, Mo has lost a total of 76 pounds and claims the show saved his life. He's no longer coaching his kids from the sidelines, he's running with them looking years younger. Taking off weight is a instant, non-surgical facelift.

Check in next week as players head home for a week. Will they fall back into old habits or persevere through at-home temptations and family distractions? See you next week.

Did you hear 2005 Biggest Loser winner Matt Hoover just completed an Ironman?
