There are a number of things you should be doing in the few weeks prior to the event that will help you go further, faster. Such as? Make sure you're getting enough sleep every night -- at least seven to nine hours. And make sure you eat well and drink plenty of water every day, not just on the day of the race. Finally, make sure you're stretching before and after every workout -- you don't want to end up sore -- or, worse yet, injured -- on the big day.
And on the day of the race? Do the same, and you should be just fine.
