Arthritis - Don't Let It Slow You Down
Categories: Fitness
Should you exercise when you're in pain? In some cases, it might just help.
Recent research shows that running plays no role in causing arthritis -- in fact, it actually may prevent and even treat it. This goes against previous conventional thought -- that exercise would inflame arthritic knees. But the verdict is in: A regular exercise routine will do your arthritis pain more good than harm -- by quite a bit.
Of course, there are a few rules to follow: Start slow if you're new to exercise, always do warm-ups and cool-downs, make sure to stretch before and after, invest in a good shoe and always consult your doctor first.
