Honesty is the best policy -- especially when it comes to calories.
But nonetheless, many of us still have a tendency to fib. Most of us underestimate the amount of calories we've consumed and overestimate how many we've burned during a workout. But whether it's hopeful thinking or just plain dishonesty, we're not doing ourselves any good.
Next time you're doing the math, make sure the numbers add up -- consider what one portion means when you're sizing up the calories in your food, and use a calculator to figure out how much you really burned on that run.
