Red Bull - How Many Calories?
Posted on Sep 17th 2009 3:00PM by Bev SklarEnergy drinks may deliver a controversial zip, but are they also zapping you with major calories? Let's take a look at the little blue and silver special with dueling bulls. How many calories in a can of Red Bull?
Red Bull has 113 calories. With 27.5 grams of sugar, 28.2 grams of carbs and less than 1 gram of protein, it's nearly all sugary carbs. Caffeine totals 76 milligrams, significantly less than a Starbucks grande coffee. But for those Master Your Metabolism fans out there sticking to real, wholesome foods, Red Bull's website reports, "All ingredients for Red Bull Energy Drink are synthetically produced by pharmaceutical companies." Great.
Now a Vodka Red Bull at the club has 177 calories, provided you didn't flirt with the bartender for a longer pour. It'll take a 150-pound clubber about a half hour of intense, aerobic dance moves to burn that off, but a whole lot longer to burn off a pina colada.
