Mallett thinks you should set a realistic goal, write up an action plan, get some good exercise DVDs, find some support and ditch the guilt -- go ahead and leave your kids with a sitter while you work up a sweat, it's good for everyone involved. Get some sleep, too, because fatigue is the biggest challenge for moms getting in shape after baby.
The best way to slim down and firm up, says Mallett, is interval circuit training -- strength training with small bursts of cardio. Stroller workouts are good, and splitting up your routine into manageable segments during the day is wise. And in her book "Super Fit Mama," Mallett recommends The Diaper Bag Workout. Seems to have worked for her, you might want to try it, too.
