Running is a popular form of fitness. The sport is also populated by a bunch of myths, says FitSugar -- like it's good to stretch before you run. Nope. Before you lace up those sneakers, your muscles are cold and tight, and stretching them might lead to a tear. Try warming up with a short walk, then stretch after the fact.

Another myth: Running is the only form of cardio you need. Not so. Running all the time can lead to injury, plus your body will become so efficient at the exercise that you might stop seeing results. Try some hiking, biking or jumping rope to mix things up. While you're at it, add in some squats and lunges, because strength training is important, too.

FitSugar busts some more myths here. (Think running is an inexpensive sport? Maybe not). And here at That's Fit, we've got some scoop on runner's knee, which might be something you can scratch off your worry list.
