Want to Shed Some Pounds? Walk It Off

Last week, Liz told us all about why walking is so good for you, no matter what kind of goal you have in mind -- because as studies show, regular brisk walking can seriously reduce the amount of deep, abdominal fat (also know as the most unhealthy kind of fat) you have.
So just how much walking should you be doing? If you're not much of a walker already, you should aim for 2,000 steps a day in addition to what you already do -- that works out to roughly a mile and will help you maintain your weight. If you want to lose weight, triple that -- walking an additional three miles a day will help you shed pounds at a healthy rate.
