Our Couches Are Killing Us
Categories: Fitness
How can you solve the major health problems America faces? Start by getting off the couch.
Our sedentary habits have been labeled the biggest public health problem this century. A startling 25 to 35 percent of Americans are completely inactive, meaning they don't get any regular exercise whatsoever, nor do they work in jobs that facilitate some sort of activity. And it's killing us -- 50 million Americans are at risk for serious diseases and early death.
If you fall into this percentage, it's time to trade some couch time for some fitness time. You don't have to start big -- just commit to getting up and out for 30 minutes a day. You owe it to yourself.
