There's only one thing sweeter than watching NBC's "The Biggest Loser" contestants reveal their slimmer selves at the finale -- a Biggest Loser wedding cake. Season 7's Nicole Brewer and Damien Gurganious just tied the knot last Sunday in a wedding day to remember.
That's Fit spoke with Nicole on Thursday about the couple's life-after-ranch wedding, upcoming honeymoon and future diet and fitness plans. Regarding her new skinny bride status, Nicole felt "victorious." She didn't have to starve herself for her wedding day or go on a juice fast. She simply maintained her post-show diet and fitness habits, swapping self-consciousness for a gorgeous size 8 dress designed by Amsale.
Trainer Bob and the show's producers were invited to the wedding, but they're deep into another Biggest Loser season and none could attend. However Season 7's Jerry and Estella Hayes and Carla Triplett were on hand to witness the occasion, along with Adam and Stacy Capers from Season 6. Carla even designed the bride's flowers. In true runner-up winning fashion, Jerry reportedly wore his BodyBugg at the wedding. There's no way this guy is gaining back the weight.

The couple's cake deemed "Biggest Loser's Prailine Bliss", a vanila bourbon-prailine and sweet potato orange layered cake filled with bourbon candied yams and vanilla prailine buttercream and topped with fresh gladiola florals.

Nicole has a sweet tooth, so she didn't want to go light on the cake -- it's a prailine bliss cake topped with buttercream frosting.

How do you plan a wedding menu after Biggest Loser? Nicole explained that it was only her and Damien on national TV, not friends and family. So the couple chose typical appetizers and provided guests a choice of chicken, beef or salmon without heavy sauces. No skimping on the cake though, Nicole admittedly has a sweet tooth.
The couple is headed to Cape Cod shortly for an active honeymoon. "We're going to have an opportunity to be in kayaks -- to fit in kayaks -- because before, we could barely fit in seats in the movie theater," Nicole says. As husband and wife they'll continue their effective combination with Damien doing most of the cooking, while each works out solo. Nicole says setting goals keeps her focused, so she has joined the New York Road Runners Club. She's also motoring to Detroit to run a half-marathon with Carla in October, then running the Philly marathon in November.
Many Biggest Loser contestants have figured out the magical balance to living a life free from morbid obesity. Nicole's one piece of advice for people struggling with their weight? "Just don't beat yourself up so much," she offers. "Restrictive diets don't work. You have to be able to eat food. I don't use the word 'diet' and I don't use the word 'cheat.' If I have a day I eat something I wouldn't normally eat, I call it high-calorie."
A big congratulations to Nicole and Damien. Watch for upcoming coverage here at That's Fit of "The Biggest Loser" Season 8 premiering September 15. Until then, start your inside and out makeover now with the best Biggest Loser lessons from Season 7.

Hi Nicole, Damien & Carla:
I hope I will be able to meet you all one day! Will you be running/walking the Staten Island Half?
Too bad I'm not doing the Philly Marathon this year. I just finished the Lake Erie, PA marathon last month and will be doing NYC Marathon next month. I also plan on going to do the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, OH on May 2, 2009. Any chance on doing that one? Allie did that one last year!
Congratulations to all of you! You all look wonderful! Hope to see you all at one of the NYRR races! aka slowmorunner / Sue Ann
