When it comes to doing splits, most of us regard this feat as a smooth move or a hamstring ripper. Adults suddenly attempting horizontal scissors on the dance floor -- after too many drinks -- will probably pull up and grab their hammies like aging ball players on the way to first.

Whether you're having high school cheerleading and pommel horse flashbacks or simply want to split your hips like a Cirque du Soleil contortionist, check out this series of exercises over at FitSugar first.
