Have you ever gone to your doctor's office with a laundry list of questions but chickened out once you get in the examination room? It happens to everyone -- there are just some things that we are uncomfortable discussing, especially when facing the gynecologist. For example: To douche or not to douche? Or how about, can you catch an STI or become pregnant from a toilet seat?

The area known as "down there" has always been a bit of a mystery to some women, and a big reason is that our most personal questions can be hard -- or just too embarrassing -- to ask our doctors. In her new book, "Ask Dr. Marie: Straight Talk and Reassuring Answers to Your Most Private Questions," Dr. Marie Savard, ABC News Medical Contributor, explains what's normal and what's not when it comes to women's health.
