Miracle Emulsion Can Help You Feel Full
Categories: Diet & Weight Loss
When it comes to losing weight, is controlling your appetite your biggest issue? Here come the scientists to the rescue. They've created an olive-oil based emulsion that can help reduce appetite. In testing, a milkshake was served to volunteers, and it had the results they were hoping for. The mixture maintains a higher level of volume in the stomach -- giving a longer-lasting feeling of being full. More testing is needed, but the next plan is trying to add the emulsion to processed foods to see if it has the same effect.
Martin Wickham, from the Institute of Food Research (the developers of the emulsion), told the Daily Mail, "It is important to keep weight down, and this is a more acceptable way of doing it than restricting your food intake on a diet."
But there's a fly in the emulsion.
For lasting weight loss, you need to change your eating habits. Not just eat chips and hamburgers that have been fortified with an appetite-reducing emulsion. Products that artificially reduce or control appetite without helping you learn better eating habits aren't likely to have a lasting effect on weight loss. For real weight loss tips that work, check out AOL Health.
And it's important to remember that hunger isn't the enemy. Hunger is merely your body's cue that it's time to eat. You don't have to restrict your food intake necessarily, you just have to choose the right foods. You can lose weight and eat plenty; just select nutrient-dense foods that benefit your body without weighing it down. And there's no need to skimp on snacks when trying to lose weight, either. Besides, as Bethany recently learned, something as simple and natural as an apple is excellent appetite control.
If you could buy foods that had an appetite-reducing emulsion added, would you?

Your favorite beverage may be just as diet-wrecking as fatty fast food, adding calories, sugar and fat and offering little or no nutritional value. Watch out for these drink shockers that will tip you closer to the F.D.A. and U.S.D.A. recommended daily limits for calories (2,000), fat (65 grams) and added sugar (40 grams) a day. Added sugars means any sugar not found naturally within the food, so look out for ingredients like sugar, maple syrup, honey, corn syrup and molasses, says Bonnie Taub-Dix, MA, RD, CDN, and national spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association (ADA).

The best way I've found to lose weight, is to get moving more often. I'd ran 3 miles every other day for years...but it wasn't until I doubled that to 6 miles every other day and started eating smarter that the weight started flying off.
I'd read a couple books and really fashioned my own diet based upon my own likes/dislikes. I'd tried South Beach...but a year later...the weight was back.
Eating more avocados, vegetables, fiber, drinking soy milk...eating SMARTER carbs...banning anything that's been fried, reducing the amount of milk/cheese I eat led to a dramatic effect. I'll still eat what I want if I'm faced with it...but I overindulge much less. I pretty much stick to red wine, if I drink at all.
I feel fantastic, I've lost the 35 pounds I wanted to lose and I've managed to keep it off for over a year.
I encourage everyone to do some reading and change your habits...don't think for one second that a drink or fad diet will get you to where you need to be. It just doesn't work that way...particularly long term.

There is only one way to lose weight. That SECRET is calories in and calories out. To lose one pound in one week, you must eat a deficit of 500 calories a day - based on your current consumption. One pound equals 3,500 calories - gain or lose. Walk at least 30 minutes a day - even in 10 minute increments, eat what you want - but eat healthy foods. It begins in your mind and ends with your flabby thighs and big ass gone! You all know what to do, just freaking do it! It is easy - not what THEY want you to know. I lost over 70 pounds in less than a year - from a size 2X to a 6 - I am 62 - and dang, you should see me now. I thought I carried my weight well, and I guess I did. But when I saw a picture of myself, I nearly had a stroke - I didn't think I looked like that! We get so complacent and comfortable in our bad habits we don't think we should really change anything. And that is our downfall. Now I have changed everything. I don't want to eat too much, I don't want sweets - sugar is a killer - and I don't have appetite issues. You do not have to deprive yourself - I had a piece of chocolate cake today - a very SMALL piece - about 4 bites - and that was enough. I eat bread, potatoes, rice, ice cream, etc. Just I eat a small amount - your stomach is actually quite small - and if you continue to stuff it full - it really does expand. Just remember this - it all starts in your head - get your attitude and your head straight - and the fat will melt away. It disappears from every part of your body. Do not listen to money mongers - I did not take one pill, one drink supplement, one lap band or any of that crap. I do take vitamins and some other stuff. If you want to talk to me, please feel free to contact me at Willo777@aol.com. I will be happy to talk to you and help you. The only money involved is what you will save at the grocery store! Trust me on this. One more thing - I want you gals to know that I come from a family of extremely obese women - so was it in my genes to be fat? ABSOLUTELY NOT - another myth THEY want you to believe so you buy their products. It is all just a smoke screen for them to make money. Billions are spent on weight loss crap - and guess what you lose? YOUR MONEY

I lost weight and have kept it off for years, simply eating if I was trying to maintain my "ideal" weight. For me that was a picture in my mind.
It didn't cost a penny...My only rule was eat what I love, just not too much of it.
