jennifer davisName: Jennifer L. Davis

Age: 28

Occupation: I am an insurance sales and service representative for my primary job, but I have several other major responsibilities, to say the least. I am also a single mother, and, as a hobby, I help people with diet and training in my spare time. I meet people and work out with them to teach them new exercises and do nutritional and other advising through e-mails. I also have one night a week when I prepare meals for the week for myself. My life is pretty hectic, but I feel very blessed. I manage the time very well and keep everyone smiling. My days start early with cardio, then off to manage insurance accounts, then soccer practice for my son, followed by the gym and finally, I answer e-mails. These are our normal days. It gets really crazy around time for a figure competition, too. But I wouldn't have it any other way!

How often do you exercise? I do cardio three mornings a week and weight train five days a week.

What type of exercise do you do? I mostly weight train. That is where I have seen the most desirable results and feel my best. I am a figure competitor so this type exercise is most beneficial for me. I use free weights and cables regularly, and I will do HIIT cardio routines from time to time for a boost. I like to throw in plyometrics for extra calorie burning as well. I always stick to a training plan for a minimum of four weeks to give it time to really produce results (and sometimes not). I don't stick to the same routine for more than six weeks, because I want to keep my body guessing and at its best. I work the same areas, I just switch to a different movement or from cables to free weights.

What gets you to work out, even when you're feeling lazy? I have lots of things that inspire me! My son inspires me, as I want to set a good example for him. He asks to go to the gym since they also provide children's activities. Music always gets me pumped up and ready to train, too. My friends, family and coworkers also inspire me because they look to me for inspiration and motivation. Little do they know, I also look to them.

What's on your MP3 player? What's not! I have a huge variety of music on my MP3. I guess songs about being tough and not giving up motivate me the most. Example: Eminem -- Lose Yourself and Christina Aguilera -- Fighter. But really, my iPod has it all, from classics, to country, to rock and roll, to rap, and who can forget the remix of Country Roads.

Favorite healthy food? Sushi! Without a doubt. I can absolutely eat my body weight in sushi.

Favorite not-so-healthy food? I would rather not say, but since you asked, it's a toss up between corn bread and McDonald's french fries.

Greatest fitness accomplishment? Oh wow! That's a hard one. I compete in figure competitions, and every show is a big accomplishment. I would have to say though my biggest accomplishment would be being invited to the Arnold Classic `09 to participate in Jenny Hendershott fashion show. I never imagined I would be on the main stage at the Arnold. Even though I wasn't competing, it was still huge. I literally almost cried! One day I will be back, and I will be competing.

Best fitness advice? Find what works best for you and drown out all the other fluff, and always give new things you try at least four weeks to really see if they work for you. So many people give up too soon and just end up frustrated. Don't let the frustration keep you from getting where you want to be, and don't be afraid to ask questions. There is probably someone who would love to offer you advice. Even the most seasoned athletes have slip-ups, so don't let your own slip-ups keep you from pushing forward toward your goals.

Jennifer, your ability to do it all is inspiring! Fitz
