Designed by British fitness expert and former fast-food junkie, this book claims you can "eat all day, lose weight, feel great." What's the secret behind this new weight-loss program? Is it more than a craze? Here, Simon Lovell chats about his favorite lunch box and about the book, available now in the U.K. and in e-Book format, and coming to U.S. readers on Amazon.com in June.
That's Fit: OK, I've got my empty lunch box, what do I put in it and how should I eat from it throughout the day?
Lovell: Your box should comprise of a mixture of vegetables, lean protein and dressings, what I call the "g-spot" of the diet plan, your chance to spice it up and add some serious flavor without packing in the calories. If you have an active lifestyle then you can use my special "active carbs," where you add in certain types of carbohydrates according to your activity levels. You can have the breakfast and dinner you currently eat and build up to a healthier one over time. You'll find that your evening portions will naturally shrink as you implement the grazing method, which is great because you'll feel less sluggish and lose weight!

That's Fit: What's in your typical lunch box?
Lovell: Spinach is a must. Radish, avocado, sugarsnap peas, beetroot, grilled chicken, hot pepper sauce, black pepper herbs and a sprinkle of cheese. Yummy! Lunch Box Diet users in the community at www.lunchboxdiet.co.uk are sharing their mouth-watering combinations and I always have trouble answering questions like that as there are thousands of possible box combinations. Although I don't need to lose weight, it's an essential part of my day as it gives me energy, provides me with essential nutrients, keeps my muscles strong as I'm a personal fitness trainer and exercise nut and is easy for me to grab in between my clients.
That's Fit: With a book cover that promises you'll "feel fresh, vibrant, slimmer and full of energy in just 7 days," it seems like the book could come across as a craze. What is its staying power?
Lovell: It's absolutely true -- the community really demonstrates how it's changing their lives in such a short amount of time. Its staying power comes from its simplicity and how easy it is to implement without too many rules and with its quick preparation times. Also it was born from my clients, from a simple three-page word document I gave them on how I ate. When they came back saying it was addictive and not only helping them lose weight, but improving their hair, skin and nails and increasing energy, I knew I'd hit onto something pretty special.
