Week 16 at "The Biggest Loser Couples" took one step closer to the May 12 finale. Set your DVRs the next few Tuesdays to watch the final five jockey for a shot at an anti-obesity $250,000. This week offered memorable diet and fitness tips, including one tricky Fitness and Food Trivia Quiz. Read on for all the fun including Bob's KitchenCam, one player's milestone weigh-in, and a diet and fitness tip where the phrase 'deck of cards' doesn't refer to a right-size serving of lean protein.

Are You Afraid To Say It?
-- Trainer Bob wondered out loud with Kristin this week if she was afraid to say she wanted to win ... because she's afraid she won't. How many times have you boldly started diet and fitness rehab, then fell flat on your face? In my mind, the effort to habitual diet and fitness is as tough as quitting smoking. Most fail multiple times, but experts say if you keep trying to toss the smokes, you will eventually prevail. So stop being Afraid To Say It -- you can eat healthier and move more.

Food and Fitness Quiz -- Good Housekeeping Magazine served up four eye-opening questions in a contest for a three-day trip to NYC:

  1. According to the packaging, how many servings are in a seven-and-one-half inch thin-crust, cheese pizza? One, Two, Four or Eight servings?
  2. Which fat is the heart healthiest for cooking? Butter, Vegetable Oil, Olive Oil or Trans-Fat Free Margarine.
  3. Which ground meat has the least fat? Extra Lean Ground Beef, Ground Chicken, Ground Turkey Breast, Ground Veal or Lean Ground Turkey?
  4. How many extra steps do people who wear a pedometer walk daily? 150, 700, 1,100 or 2,000?

Trivia Answers: 1.)
I guessed four -- wrong! Answer was eight, and the whole pizza contained 1,944 calories and 88 grams of fat. Watch out for Big Food's single-serving-like foods with deceiving labels. This pizza would only be cut that small at a tapas joint. 2.) Stick with the old stand-by, it's olive oil. 3.) Ooh, I went with the lean 'breast' factor and nailed this one. Ground Turkey Breast has only 1 percent fat, while Ex. Lean Ground Beef and Lean Ground Turkey have seven percent fat. Ground Veal has eight percent, but watch out for Ground Chicken, it's 11 percent fat because they grind up the skin, too. Ugh. 4.) Buy a quality pedometer and that awareness factor will up your steps an average of 2,000 a day. Teenage Mike beat out Kristin for the trip to NYC ... she told Mike he's not old enough to travel to The Big Apple.

KitchenCam --
Bob had his team videotape a day's meal prep in the kitchen. Turned out their 225-calorie breakfast egg white burrito, 172-calorie lunch pita pizza, almond/orange snack and three-ounce orange roughy with broccoli and yams for dinner were a bad call. Bob says they're not eating enough for their activity level and that pizza was seriously lacking protein. Remember, starving yourself and skipping protein will not help you lose weight.

  • Instead of sitting at the poker table tossing down peanuts, Jillian suggests we try our hand at Fitness Poker. Pull out a deck of cards and turn over one by one. Diamonds denote push-ups, Hearts are lunges, Spades are crunches and Clubs are reverse crunches. Numbers determine total number of reps, with face cards equaling 10. Aces are a one minute break. Deal the entire deck for a healthy game of cards. I am a poker lover, can't wait to try this.
  • Don't be wary of soy, says Bob. It's an inexpensive, high-quality protein with fiber, vitamin and minerals. Soy milk, soy protein bars and tofu hot dogs are heart healthy and build muscle. I love a steamed tofu stir fry, check out AOL Health's Orange-Soy Stir Fry.

Tara won the Hang in a Cage 45-Ft High challenge for the option to keep $10,000 or trade it in for a pound advantage at the weigh-in. Good thing she took the 10K because she lost five pounds to stay above the yellow line. Ron dropped below 300 pounds, the first time he's been in the 200s since his early teen years. Unfortunately Helen only lost a pound, and stressed-out Kristin gained a pound. Ron and Mike decided to target the Biggest Threat Kristin and she went home. Gameplay Ron lied when asked if he knew Mike was going to vote her off, but ranch mics don't miss a whisper. Kristin is back home motivating others to lose weight and targeting under-200 for the finale. So who will be the Finale Final Three -- Tara, Ron, Mike, Filipe or Helen? If they lose enough weight, Ron and Mike decide. See you next week.
