Danskin's New Triathlon Collection - I Tried It Out!

Danskin Tri SuitTriathlon season is around the corner, and I couldn't be more excited. Not only did I just have a fantastic swim (the first in a while), but I have the right gear, thanks to Danskin's new triathlon collection.

It makes sense that they'd launch a line of triathlon gear -- after all, the Danskin Women's Triathlon Series is the longest running women's triathlon series in the U.S., and they've now joined forces with the super popular SheROX Triathlon series. The Danskin SheROX Triathlon Series is taking place in cities all over the country (check out the website to find a location near you).

Anyway, Danskin's triathlon collection combines quality, style, and -- bum bum bum -- femininity. Because, I don't know about you, but although I like looking tough and athletic, I still like looking like a girl. Sue me, but it's the truth. I can kick butt just as well wearing a pink top with flowers on it as I can wearing all black.

The tops have several really good qualities, aside from their cuteness. For one, they're long. I hate when my shirt creeps up on my belly, and the length really helps keep things covered. I still experienced a little bit of creeping, but I think that had more to do with the extra pound or two I'm carrying. (If it's something you're really concerned about, they offer a zip up tri suit that's sure to stay in place.)

The only possible issue I can see is that the built-in bra might not offer enough support for bigger-breasted ladies, but I've seen very few sport tops that don't benefit from a sports bra underneath. The material is thin, which feels great, but if you tend to get "headlights," you might want to look at either the black or the print -- the pink, which I have, doesn't hide much.

They offer a wide range of bottoms, from briefs to skorts to tights, and, of course shorts in a couple of lengths. They also offer a cycling short, which I'm digging for long bike rides, but this is my first time wearing shorts with padding for cycling, and I'm not quite used to running in them. But, oooh baby, the padded butt is where it's at when you're on a long bike ride!
