Avocado Shake - Forget that Shamrock Shake and Try This

McDonald's green Shamrock Shake is nearly here, with one frothy cup containing 9.8 grams of fat and 416 calories. It would take you nearly two hours of walking to burn it off. But there's another way to score a sweet, green shake featuring healthier fats, tons of fiber and half the calories -- an avocado shake. Most Americans are familiar with this green fruit when their salty chip dips into a bowl of guacamole, but the Vietnamese love sinh to bo, a sweet avocado drink/dessert made by blending sugar, sweetened condensed milk or coconut milk, ice cubes and an avocado. Check out this avocado shake recipe. Tapioca pearls, pineapple and chocolate make good mix-ins, too.
With all the sugar in the recipe above, there's no way this shake could remotely taste like a liquid salad. With primarily healthy fats (mono and polyunsaturated), lots of vitamins/minerals/phytonutrients, and seven grams of fiber per serving, go exotic green and give an avocado shake a try.
