Walk Backwards
Categories: Daily Fit Tip
If you're used to pounding the pavement, here's an easy way to mix up your routine and reap some additional benefits.
Walking and running backwards can give your tired old routine new life -- and, because it's something different than what your muscles are used to, it helps lessen the chance that you'll strain the muscles you always use, according to Fitsugar.
But that's not all -- it can improve balance, help lessen knee pain and increase overall strength in your legs. Plus it burns lots of calories. There's a catch, though -- you can't go as fast as you would going forwards, so give yourself some extra time when you head out the door.
