Food Network - Is It Making Us Fat?
Categories: Nutrition & Supplements
I'll admit it. I'm addicted to the Food Network. I work from home, but I miss the noise of the bustling busy office environment I used to work in. To compensate for the silence, the Food Network is on quietly in the background almost all day. Though I love to watch the shows, I rarely make the foods I see. But over at Vitamin G, they're wondering if the Food Network is making it harder for us to eat healthfully. A lot of the commenters agree with the theory. Says one person: "Those shows instantly make me hungry, even if I just ate a meal and normally wouldn't be! I can't watch them or I would get as big as a house."

Oh no! Not at all! None of the above!
Food Network definitely changed the way I cook utterly and completely, but it played a very hugely important POSITIVE role in making me THIN! Alton Brown taught me a LOT about how to use fresh produce instead of foods that come with pre-printed instructions on them. He taught me how easy it was to make foods that are significantly healthier and tastier than the store-bought versions. If it weren't for Alton, I would still be eating take-out, microwave meals, and pre-seasoned or pre-packaged processed foods.
I very strongly recommend Good Eats. It is entirely due to this show that I can eat tastier foods AND lose weight.
