Munch Smarter at the Movies

No kids this weekend, so we're heading to the movies (no 3:00 am-er dance fest this time around). But I hate stepping on the scale the morning after a popcorn binge. Cinema popcorn is one carbo, fat and sodium-filled explosion. I've got a plan, though, after checking out Never Say Diet's smarter movie munching strategies. I would definitely try these three:- Go Halfsies -- split a box of Sno-Caps, Junior Mints or Raisinets for a 200-calorie treat. Oh, and 13 Milk Duds (my favorite) have only 170 calories and 6 grams of fat.
- Order the Kids Meal -- slide your thin rear into the seat armed with a controlled portion of popcorn and candy. I'd also suggest you don't dig in until 10 minutes in, so you're not tempted to sprint out and order a biggie size.
- Slushee -- Only 200 calories and the brain freeze will keep you from thinking about popcorn.
Time for a kid's cinema meal at The Wrestler this Friday -- Mickey Rourke spent seven grueling months getting ripped for this role. Oh Mickey, you're so fine -- he ran every morning, went back to sleep with metabolism screaming, ate egg whites and lifted for hours a day. My kiddie cinema meal doesn't quite fit into that equation.
