I have recently joined a volleyball league, and love it! Meeting new people, being active, and challenging myself to always get better! I love it so much that over summer, I will also be doing beach volleyball and flag football!

My roommate and I are training for a half marathon! Knowing she's counting on me to train inspires me; we keep each other going! I know crossing the finish line is going to feel so amazing.

I work out to keep some rhythm and insanity in my life...between career, family, relationships, friends, etc. etc, I need that regular "me" time to clear my mind! I also feel like working out and staying fit while I'm young will prevent health problems in the future. I want to live a long and healthy life so I can accomplish all of my dreams and goals!

I love playing sports because it makes me feel like a kid again. Plus I know that I need to be active and show my 2.5 year old twin boys that being active is a part of who I am so that they will be inspired and hopefully follow in my footsteps. I need to break the cycle my husband and my families left us with. I DO NOT want my kids on the Biggest Loser!

My original reason for trying to regularly exercise was to lose weight. I could never really commit to the lifestyle until my my mother-in-law and father-in-law both passed away from cancer in 2005 and now this year both of my own parents have been diagnosed with cancer. I don't want cancer!! And so much of what i read tells me that regular exercise will help me keep cancer away so now I aim for 6 days of workouts at home or at a gym but i usually get only 3 or 4 workouts in. My daughter teases me and calls me the "workout queen" and that I inspire her to be more aware of her eating and exercise habits.
I wish my parents had known the benefits of regular exercise when they were younger.

I originally started working out to bump up my weight loss about a year ago. I've never been very athletic. I started out twice a week and then worked up to every other day. I found that I really enjoyed working out and it was a great stress reliever at the end of the work day. Surprisingly, I found I had MORE energy after working out, which has just inspired me to keep going. I used to get winded after climbing a flight of stairs. Not anymore!

When I first started working out, I wanted to do it for my family. My husband and I want kids, but at 233 lbs, I was way too heavy.
Now, 50 lbs lights, my goals are still geared towards my family, but the strength that I've proven to myself to keep going is what really motivates me to get out there every day and push myself to reach my goal weight.

I work out to keep myself healthy and find peace. There's nothing more relaxing than a long, sweaty workout.

I'm inspired by vanity. Fitness activities help me control my weight and keep me toned.

I exercise for so many reasons. I do it to be healthy and in respect to my body. I also exercise to clear my mind and refocus myself. It brings back the balance and helps me release stress.

Ha, can I say that my unborn babies inspire me to stay fit?
I used to be significantly overweight, but then I got a clue, shaped up (got engaged during that process!), and am now in the best, fighting shape of my life. I am determined to stay this way so I can be an active, involved wife and mother who is actually happy with herself!
Serve yourself; no one else can do for you like you.

I was not fit as a child or even a teenager. After I got married, though, I realized how out of shape I was and got into shape, and now I'm training for a half-marathon with my husband. Having him cheer me on is inspriration enough!

i have been playing sports my entire life. They are such an important part of who I am and who i've become. Playing on a team challenges you be at your best potential. My teammates had become my sisters.

I just started running because in the stress of college I gained weight and became really sedentary - now I'm taking charge and working out 3x or more per week. Watching triathalons and marathons on tv sure gets me pumped.

I work out to build up my immune system. I graduated from college in 2008 and for the last 2 years of it I was always very sick, it seemed like once I got over the flu I'd get a stomach virus, then I'd get over that, but I'd get a cold, and so on. It was all because I had a very sedentary life, plus being a typical student I drank alcohol and ate cheap food, which is usually something unhealthy. Now I feel stronger and healthier!

I actually lost 54 pounds a few years ago without exercising. After reaching my new weight I really needed to work out to tone my muscles and help keep the weight off. My new reward (instead of cookies) for a good week or losing a few pounds is a new pair of yoga pants or some sporty shorts. Most of these things are expensive so I shop the clearance racks and go to the discount stores. I still have weight to lose and muscle to build so it would be great to have some Addidas that didn't come off of the clearance rack.

I work out because with fitness, there are endless amounts of different fitness goals. With goals, life is more productive and meaningful. Working to achieve fitness goals not only provides a longer lifespan, but a more energetic body to be able to fulfill everything life has to offer.

I first got motivated when I needed to lose weight. I realized quick that once I got that wieght off, then I needed some new motivation. I have scheduled some pin up photos to be taken for my fiance and I have also entered into a half-marathon. I have never been a runner and this is my new challenge. I am loving it (which surprised me). I ran 6 miles in 60 minutes the other day and still felt fine at the end, I think I can do this!

My inspiration is an 81-year-old women who ran her 21st consecutive New York City marathon last year. She said that she wanted to "die running." That's dedication! I'm still working on running my first marathon and I don't know if I ever want to run that many marathons consecutively, but I do know that I look forward to being fit when I'm 80 and able to enjoy being in my grandchildren's lives that much more.
