Clearing out your kitchen and making room for nutritious foods has a dual purpose. One, it removes the temptation of those calorie-laden foods. Two, it lays the foundation for healthy eating. Some tips:
- Freezer. Keep your freezer stocked with frozen fruits and vegetables and high-protein, low-fat snacks like edamame.
- Fridge. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy (or dairy substitutes), lean protein, and a water filtering pitcher.
- Pantry. Whole grains, salt-free mixes, healthy oils, and healthy snacks like low-fat popcorn.
