When you're trying to lose weight, it's helpful to have your kitchen stocked and ready.

daily fit tipClearing out your kitchen and making room for nutritious foods has a dual purpose. One, it removes the temptation of those calorie-laden foods. Two, it lays the foundation for healthy eating. Some tips:

  • Freezer. Keep your freezer stocked with frozen fruits and vegetables and high-protein, low-fat snacks like edamame.
  • Fridge. Plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables, low-fat dairy (or dairy substitutes), lean protein, and a water filtering pitcher.
  • Pantry. Whole grains, salt-free mixes, healthy oils, and healthy snacks like low-fat popcorn.
