Health Conscious People - Do They Eat Foods They Hate?
Categories: Nutrition & Supplements
When you hear about people who are health nuts, you might imagine them choking down bitter-tasting leaves and weird juicer concoctions they can barely stomach. And this image might be actually true. Recent surveys out of Britain show that most health-conscious people regularly eat foods they hate because they're good for them. In fact, one-third eat at least one thing they hate each week.
People, it doesn't have to be this way. There are literally thousands of foods out there that are good for you. Life is too short to to be gulping down what you can't stand, so do yourself a favour and find something equally nutritious that you actually like.
I'm curious to know ...

Hate is a strong word. I don't really care for bananas, but I do eat them a few times each week because I know they are a healthy and filling snack. I have to eat some nuts with it, to help offset that mushiness. Just because you don't "like" something is not always a good reason to avoid it either! Balance!! I eat loads of things that I really love (like those nuts!), so occasionally downing something healthy that doesn't send you into a food frenzy is ok too.

The taste of many foods change drastically depending on how they're prepared (or not). Most of the time, if a food is healthy, I can find some form of it that I like. For example, I hate raisins but love grapes. On the other hand, I like cranberries dried but not raw. I always cook my broccoli and cauliflower in some way because cooking removes the bitterness and makes them sweet, but I never cook my carrots because raw carrots already taste very sweet to me, so cooking them makes them too sweet.
