I just saw the legendary funny woman last night and was fortunate enough to ask her a couple of questions. At 73 years young, she really does have a body most women would dream of at that age (including me). In fact, she's always had an amazing physique; just check out her old pics from The Carol Burnett Show!
Burnett is starring in Laughter and Reflection with Carol Burnett: A Conversation with Carol Where the Audience Asks the Questions and besides answering my questions, she answered some from the audience as well.
On the topic of how she keeps her legs so thin: "I shave off loads of excess hair each day."
-The ape woman population will benefit greatly from doing this.
On rounding out her flat tush: "Designer Bob Mackie made all of our costumes for The Carol Burnett Show. When we created the character Miss Wiggins, the dumb blond bimbo secretary, Bob made me a fitted pencil skirt. I asked him to alter the skirt because it was really saggy in the back, since my backside is so flat. Instead, he told me to push out my tush to fill in the gap. This gave Miss Wiggins a very rounded bum and is how she ended up with that funny walk."
-I too have a small bum, so I have already adopted this new walking style. (Pigeon toes and all!)
On food and her trim body. "I only eat half portions."
-Excellent advice for anyone trying to lose or maintain weight. Especially since most restaurants serve meals three times too big.
On exercise. "I do pilates. But only twice a week, so it doesn't really count!"
-It does count, Carol. You look amazing!
