Biggest Loser Couples - Bob Goes Ballistic

The nine contestants sent packing are a busy bunch back home. Some are hiring personal trainers, Stella cleaned all the fat out of her cupboards, and David 'watched' his diet by only ordering two hot dogs and fries while reconnecting with family. Obesity is obviously a family affair for David, meeting together at a hot dog joint is not a good sign for the Orange team.
Temptation Time -- At the ranch, Joelle barely survived this season's first temptation offering $25,000 to anyone willing to step out of the game. That's more than Joelle earned in two years, so it was pretty tempting. But she didn't take the money. Biggest Loser temptations don't compare to the reality show Survivor's peanut butter and chocolate temptation when contestants get skeletal. Perhaps $100,000 would have made it more interesting.
What's Your Mantra? -- After a quarter mile paddling in a sea kayak contestants had to run to the top of a mini-mountain (looked like a foothill to me) to win this week's challenge and immunity. Second through fourth won a weepy phone call home, too. Joelle's Push Baby Push self-mantra got her through the paddle. What's your personal mantra when you're in pain? In the end, Green's Tara pulled off a surprise win against Black's confident Blaine. She must be Jillian's dream contestant, she's tough.
Love Is In The Air -- It's only week two and contestant support and love for one another appears genuine and often. Dan and Grampa Jerry completed the mountain challenge thanks to fellow contestants rallying around them with encouragement, a few pushes and hugs. Kinda makes last season's Vicky and Heba a distant memory. Nah, I'm still mad.
How Many Times Did Ballistic Bob Drop the F-Bomb? -- After Joelle was cutting her :30 team sprint intervals on the treadmill into a :20 effort, Bob confronted her. He demanded she sprint the full :30. She failed again. All the while he kept screaming, f-bombing and telling her she wasn't giving it her all, that she needed to just do it. Well, I counted. Bob said what appeared to be the f-word 10 times. He snapped. But he had the last word, Joelle finally sprinted on the treadmill for the full :30 after that tenth f-bomb. I don't think she learned a thing.

Don't Miss Trainer Gems
- Bob says singing while working out makes you breathe more deeply, take in more oxygen, improves your aerobic ability, releases muscle tension, tones the core and helps stimulate circulation. Who cares if you sound awful, these benefits are worth it. Sing on your at-home treadmill, sing outside, sing at the gym when no one's around.
- Jillian says up the intensity of your moderate workout by adding jumps. Do jump squats instead of squats, jumping lunges, jumping jacks, jump some rope. Jillian would be proud -- I just did a bunch of plyometric jumps at the track.
Week two's notoriously poor showing in the weight loss department held true for a few contestants, but not for others. Joelle only lost two pounds for official f-bomb justification. Mandi lost a shaky six, but Dan and Jerry ultimately fell below the yellow line this week. Contestants sent Jerry home, but don't feel bad. He looks fantastic only three months post-show. He's down 84 pounds, Stella looks slimmer and they're both playing vigorously with their grandkids. Jerry's attempting to drop 76 more by the finale. What a rewarding moment in the show. See you next week.
