Check in With Your New Year's Resolutions

Did you know that thousands of New Year's Resolutions have already failed spectacularly?

Has yours? It's okay if it has -- you don't need to wait a full year to make a new one. Just remind yourself of the promise you made to yourself when the clock struck midnight and get back on that wagon.

You might need to do some re-evaluating, though. If it was too hard to stick with for a week, then chances are it's too hard to stick to for the rest of the year. Make it attainable, like this:

  • Instead of vowing to lose 50 pounds in six months, vow to lose two pounds a month, for instance.
  • Instead of vowing to never eat sugar, vow to eat it only on Saturdays and your birthday.
  • Instead of vowing to work out at the gym six days a week, vow to get some sort of exercise six days a week -- even if it's just a 20-minute walk.

Well, you get the picture.
