Bob Greene - Questions He Wants You To Ask Yourself
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment, Motivation

Did anyone catch yesterday's Oprah? The queen of Daytime (and pretty much everything else) was talking about her recent weight gain and how she was going to undo all of the extra pounds in the upcoming year. Of course, Oprah's own fitness and diet guru Bob Greene was on the show, and he challenged viewers to figure out the real reasons they're overweight -- love of food not included.
So, be honest with yourself and take some time to thoughtfully answer these questions:
- Why are you overweight? It's not because you like junk food. There's something deeper going on and you need to realize it.
- What are you truly hungry for? Again, this has nothing to do with food. Maybe you're craving love, attention or success. Think about it.
- Why did you fail? Oprah thought she had it when she lost weight two years ago. But really achieving success means accepting that this struggle will stay with you for life, and you have to make smart choices every single day.
- Why do you want to lose weight? I bet I know the answer -- you think it will make you happier. Believing that weight loss is the key to happiness has two outcomes: Either you never lose weight and blame your unhappiness on it, or you do and are still unhappy when you realize your weight has nothing to do with happiness.
Bob knows what he's talking about, and if he thinks you need to confront your weighty demons, what are you waiting for?
