America Takes It Off: Shrink a Size - Wednesday Weigh-In #1

Posted on Jan 7th 2009 8:00AM by Jacki Donaldson
On Monday, we issued our very first America Takes It Off challenge after reviewing what really matters for weight loss.

We encouraged you to portion your plates. Remember? One quarter filled with a lean protein, one quarter filled with a healthy carbohydrate and the other half filled with fruits and veggies. We motivated you to forget fat-free and go fat-healthy. Did you eat good fats, like those found in nuts, olive oil and avocados? And we suggested you move throughout your day for some good calorie-burn.

We hope you hopped on board. We hope it made a difference too. Let's find out. You've got until noon tomorrow (Thursday, January 8) to reveal your number in the poll below. If you haven't yet stepped on a scale, do it now so you can join us next Wednesday. You'll need a starting weight so at the end of the month, you can marvel at how much progress you've made.

How Much Weight Did You Lose in Week #1?
I lost 5 pounds.18 (17.3%)
I lost 4 pounds.5 (4.8%)
I lost 3 pounds.10 (9.6%)
I lost 2 pounds.19 (18.3%)
I lost 1 pounds.20 (19.2%)
I lost 0 pounds.32 (30.8%)

Thanks for sharing. We'll be back on Friday to share how much combined weight you all lost. Our goal is an aggregate 250 pounds by the end of January. We can't wait to see how we fare in week one.
