Jeremy Piven - A Hot, But Toxic Bod
Categories: Celebs & Entertainment, Nutrition & Supplements
Actor Jeremy Piven recently withdrew from his hit Broadway show Speed-the-Plow. Turns out his mercury levels are off the charts. Piven's doc, Dr. Carlon Colker, reports he's allegedly mercury toxic, with six times the amount of healthy mercury churning around in his system. Ugh, that sounds awful.Piven hasn't been eating thermometers, Colker says his daily appetite for sushi is to blame. Sushi? Those healthy rolls of rice with fresh fish and veggies lightly dipped in a flavorful sauce with a tidge of wasabi to blow your sinuses open? Yup. Piven has eaten sushi for years, often twice a day. He's also into Chinese herbs, which combined with the sushi, could create his hot, but toxic bod.
Fatigue, neuromuscular dysfunction, dizziness -- Piven has exhibited all these symptoms. Now he's off Broadway and on bed rest. Toxic tuna sushi is not new news, an investigative team over at NYT analyzed 20 sushi samples from Manhattan earlier this year and found shockingly high mercury levels. Take eat-sushi-regularly off your 2009 resolution list, or order the veggie California sushi rolls instead.

Wow, I guess everything is good in moderation. I too would eat sushi twice a day if I could afford to.
