Q. Hi Fitz, I love to exercise, but may only have about 15 minutes to do anything on Christmas Day. Can you give me a quick circuit to do at home before we take off for the family party? Thanks and Merry Christmas, Johnny

A. Sure, Johhny! I'd love to. Before I do that, though, I want to tell you how impressive it is that fitness is such a priority for you. Lots of folks are going to use the holiday as an excuse to do nothing. You and I both know that a brief workout will probably make us feel more energetic and happy on the big day and give us a little more wiggle room to enjoy an extra indulgence without paying the price. High five to you!

This total-body workout is designed for healthy individuals. Run through the circuit between two and five times, depending how much time you have!

  • 50 Jumping Jacks
  • 30 Lunges -- lunge forward, alternating each leg.
  • 20 Push-ups
  • 10 Squat Jumps -- squat down and jump up high, return to squat and jump again.
  • 15 Dips
  • Wall Squats -- sit against a flat wall with your knees bent at 90 degrees, hold this "wall squat" for 60 seconds.
  • 50 Jumping Jacks
  • Finish with three sets of planks, holding for 30 seconds each time.

Here's a short list of single-activity exercises you could do for 15 minutes with great benefit!

  • Jogging
  • Jumping Rope
  • Swimming Laps
  • Heavy Bag Training
  • Cycling
  • Stepper
  • Elliptical
  • Dancing

I wish you all the best the holidays have to offer and hope you'll take time to do something nice for that fancy body of yours! Merry Christmas and get to work!
